A committed romantic relationship is one of the most important factors in life satisfaction and overall well-being for most people. Sharing life’s journey, riding the rollercoaster of ups and downs together, and supporting each other can be wonderful.
If you are in a committed relationship, I will work with you to improve your connection, intimacy, affection, understanding, and collaboration. Positive shifts are usually observed after the first few coaching sessions. My primary goal is supporting you and your partner in developing the relationship skills for sharing whatever arises, nurturing a foundation of trust & love, and learning to repair & reconnect when there is hurt.
If you are single, I will work with you to learn from patterns in your past relationship experiences, to gain clarity on what you want, and to cultivate skills to attract, select, and build a relationship with a partner.
What I offer is not traditional couples therapy …
What I offer are skills to deepen your relationship. In contrast to traditional couples therapy:
(1) we discuss past hurts only enough to uncover present-day needs, and
(2) I don’t assume that you or your relationship is broken & needs to be fixed.
Skills for intimacy, empathy, and vulnerability can be learned so you can reconnect & deepen your commitment to each other.
Are there times in your romantic relationship when you feel that you are on the receiving end of criticism, blame, and judgment from your partner? In response to these situations, some coaches, therapists, and loved ones might offer the following advice: “As a first step, establish healthy boundaries.” In this article, I’ll begin to unpack what that means, why it is useful, and (probably most importantly) how to do it.
Coaching for individuals is tailored depending on whether you are in a romantic relationship or not. Being single is the perfect time to grow and explore what you want. Coaching sessions focus on healing & learning from past relationships, and growing the skills to partner wholly with another person. If you’re in a relationship now, we focus on what you can do to show up differently with skills that shift your current relationship and prepare you with the resilience & strength for whatever the future holds.
Coaching sessions for couples are tailored for what’s most important in your relationship right now. What’s most relevant depends on whether you’re in a relationship that is struggling or making a good one even better. The common theme is that I work with you both to learn & practice skills for intimacy, compassion, connection, and support so together you can meet what the future holds.
Programs and Workshops
Often there is value in attending workshops with others or to invest in a self-directed program. Workshops and programs can be stand-alone or a complement to coaching. Workshops provide opportunities to learn from other participants. Self-directed programs are a cost-effective option for following a step-by-step course. Programs and workshops are being offered all the time. Contact us if you’d like recommendations.
